Frances Corr - NEW local artist exhibiting until April 2016

I am delighted to announce that a new artist has joined the ‘Local Artists Project’ set up to support rising creative talent in the Glasgow North constituency. Frances Corr will be showcasing her art work in my Firhill office until the beginning of April.

The first artist to kick off this exciting project was Christopher Stevens of Nautilus Inkworks. Following on from Andy Peutherer and Michelle Campbell, who exhibited their work until the middle of February, I am thrilled that Frances Corr’s calming, original oil paintings are now part of the Project.

“Drawing and painting have always provided me with somewhere to go. I love the idea of making an imaginary place look real. Space restrictions in the last few years have made my paintings go from large to tiny, and health restrictions changed the subject matter from landscapes to interiors. At present landscapes have reappeared, but on a different scale, slightly larger than the interiors but much smaller than landscapes of the past. The subject matter in all of the paintings is invented, made up from pieces of memory, observation and imagination, and imbued with some mysterious element when it takes on a life of its own.”

To view Frances Corr's work just pop by the office in Firhill Road where her art will be on display until the beginning of April.
